Up and Coming

Well, I'm finally getting my computer problems resolved and hopefully, with other distractions out of the way, I'm looking forward to getting back on some sort of regular posting schedule. Although I don't even attempt to post every day, I do try to, at the very least, get something new up once a week or so.

What has inspired me is the fact that, even though I've been mostly absent for two or three weeks, my list of followers has grown. So then, I'd like to offer a hearty welcome to Odd Ghoul Out, Anemie, Ramona Flowers and Sarah Silence. Also, during a recent visit to the Dark Side of the Net I discovered that the kind folks there gave this blog and yours truly an honorable mention of sorts. Thank you so much for pointing people this way! I hope you'll continue to come back.

I often struggle with the problem of  finding new ideas for material; especially, since I try to come up with weekly updates. I'm happy to report though, that I actually have a small list of up and coming entries and articles that I intend to present over the next several weeks. On the very top of the roster is a romantic short story that I'm still working on but intend to finish this week. Getting it done is my highest priority for the next several days.

As I may have mentioned before, I'm involved with the maintenance of a small but very historic cemetery. The burial ground, which the organization I belong to is attempting to have placed on the National Register of Historic Places - Arkansas, is scheduled for a major renovation beginning some time after the end of June.I'm looking forward to both sharing the story of the early pioneers buried there as well as providing before and after photo documentation of the restoration itself. Since the graveyard was established in the nineteenth century and most of the interned lived and died during that period, several of the tombs are uniquely representative of burial practices that no longer exist.

In the same vein as my previous entry on the story of America's best known vampire, Mercy Brown, I will be telling the real-life tale of another New England woman who was accused of being both witch and vampire. I will also fill you in on the Legend of Ghost Hallow, which tells the story about the tragic nineteenth century death of a young woman, whose unexpected demise occurred just to the east of the cemeteries I look after. .

Anyway, I hope that my plans for the weeks ahead will capture your interest and will keep you coming back for more.

Finally, here's some gloomy music for you from Swallow the Sun. The song is called Doomed to Walk the Earth.
